My neighborhood today...

I woke up to the sound of loud crashes and glass breaking last night at midnight. I got up to look out my bedroom door when the power went out, and all I could see were flashes of lightning, hail crashing through my window and hitting me, and glass going everywhere. It only lasted about two to five minutes, the but damage was extensive.

All the windows on the side of my apartment are shattered, as are those of my new upstairs neighbor. My car's windows are fine, but there's significant (read: a lot) of hail damage to its hood, driver side and trunk. There's glass everywhere in my parking lot. At first, I didn't think my car was that heavily damanged, but then the rain dried.

I just drove a coworker to my apartment and they've boarded up my windows. I dont think they'll be able to repair my windows today. We attempted to drive through clarksville, but its nearly impossible. Throughout, huge trees are downed and workers are chopping them up and getting them out of the road.

Still no power. This morning, I showered with my bathroom door open and my only source of lighting being a candle. "This is how George Washington lived," I said to try to calm myself.

Of all things, I'm most upset about my car, as it's still relatively new.

What a lousy week.

Enchanted Rock

The Group

I haven't written about my lovely Sunday in Enchanted Rock with the boys. Ray organized it. A group of us met up in the morning and caravanned over to Enchanted Rock, which is large park about an hour and a half outside of Austin. The weather was perfect, around 81 degrees with a light breeze and little humidity.

The best part of the hike was the Lone Stars we all packed for our ascent. Once on top of the summit, we shotgunned our cans. Pretty soon, we were all mellow and laying in the sun for a while. Here's me looking silly and "fake" shotgunning, as I just drank it normally.
Lonestar

Later on in the day, we stopped in Fredericksburg and had German food. It was delicious. Also, I "fake" made out with Russ when we were leaving and caught the eye of two frat boys driving by. Whoopsie. Here's a slideshow of the day:

Sad News

Anna Note, my paternal grandmother, passed away this morning in her sleep. She had been sick for some time and entered hospice care recently. Rest in peace.

Everyone is blogging the video clip above, so I thought I'd add this one as well, which is equally as awesome:

Meet Nick Adams

This dandy fella  is  the one who apparently is making Mario Lopez jealous about bicep size. Lopez is currently starring in A Chorus Line. Adams plays his assistant. Lopez has forgone the traditional long sleeved brown shirt for his character, as made famous by Michael Bennett.  Instead, he's opted to show off this gorgeous arms.  But turns out that Adams' got a better pair of guns.  So Lopez has requesed that Adams wear a  hoodie whenever he and Lopez are on the stage together.
I would prefer two for the price of one with my ticket.

Story here.

Weekend Wrap-up (Wherein I almost puke)

Friday Iron Man with Russ and Matt. Gay Bars. Pool party. I think I got hit on twice on Friday night, but am so oblivious to this stuff, much less of the mindset "why would anyone hit on me" that I didn't realize it was happening until afterwards.

Saturday I can't for the life of me, remember what I did Saturday. Other than have a mini panic attack during brunch with Katelyn (whee) and spend the evening at Dominican Joe's with Ray.

Sunday Ugh. So embarrassing. Here's the good: I played a full 90 minute game. I didn't bang my toe. My teammates said I stepped up my play. The bad: I almost puked three times during our half time break. I don't wanna to into the reasons. But I was embarrassed, and almost sat out the second half, as Matt noted that I was shaking. Instead, I sucked it up after I calmed down and went out and played. I spent the rest of the day in bed. Later, I joined the boys out at OCH and Rain. A lot of softball boys were out as well, so we had a nice random Sunday evening hanging out in the harem beds at Rain.
